GRAY MORROW TOLKIEN BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES HOBBIT 3 PAINTINGS TRYPTIC

We are presenting for sale an original 3 Painting Tryptic done by GRAY MORROW in colored marker of the BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES from THE HOBBIT written by J.R.R. Tolkien.

This was done during the Rankin/Bass movie of THE HOBBIT in 1977. We believe at least the large central piece was also used in the THE Hobbit: Or There and Back Again: An Illustrated Edition, Harry N. Abrams, published in 1977 along with the movie. This is a rare opportunity to obtain major pieces from this historic Tolkien film and book.

This was Gray Morrow’s favorite paintings. It hung in his bedroom until his death in 2001.

The main painting is 14″ tall by 36″ wide and unframed. The 2 smaller paintings are 9″ x 12″ and unframed. They are in excellent condition

Each of the three paintings have been professionally matted, boarded and shrink wrapped to archival standards. They are in excellent condition.

Only the paintings are being sold. No publication rights are being sold with the paintings.
